Description
The Coconut Shell Riddim was created after a cook on Grand Anse Beach Grenada. Hitz, hanging with friends, found interest in the sound of a Coconut Shell after it was cracked open for it's contents to be used in the pot. "The Shell fell and hit the side of the pot," he claims, "and there in laid the inspiration for the Riddim.’’ “I took it to the studio, hit the hell out of it and here we have it, the Coconut Shell Riddim."
Hitz then enlisted friend and sporadic cowriter Kimoney "Black Angel" Carmicheal in Trinidad to help conceptualize 2 of the songs that would then become; Shuwayne Winchesters "My Team" and Fya Empress's "Cool Scene." Continuing his trek, Hitz took the journey to the winter bound Province of Ontario, Canada. Where he'd add the final touches to the Riddim and the amazing song by Kerwin DuBois that just seems to rub everyone the right way "Press A Button.”
"I went into KNS Studios with Kerwin and had one phrase, "Say D Word" Kerwin then worked his magic and through several sessions and meticulous construction. We emerged with not only the third and final song. But the final versions of all the songs." Hitz continued, "There’s a magic that lies in KNS and these winter months. People truly find innovative ways to keep warm lol... We created our own fete, hahaha."
